Stockholm - Part 5

Day 33 (30 July 2017)

Back in Stockholm before we fly back home tomorrow. The goal is to fit in 2 more attractions, have as many fikas as possible, and do some last minute shopping within the next 24 hours.

The weather was beautiful.

We missed out on Grona Lund Tivoli. Again. The first time, we were too tired. Today, they have a rock concert and the giant wave swing that we wanted to go on was closed. Sad.

Dinner at our favourite restaurant in Stockholm, Restaurang Tradition.

Back for more Kavring.

And Beef Rydberg.

Day 34 (31 July 2017)

Morning fika. We are going to miss you, princess slice.

Inside the Stockholm City Hall.

The dazzling gold hall!!!!

Pre-lunch. Fried herring burger at Nystekt Stromming.

Lunch.

Fika. Of all our favourites.

Pulpit Rock

 Day 32 (29 July 2017)

The hike that we have been looking forward to for months, and also with apprehension of our fitness if we were able to make it to the top. We have prayed for good weather. But the weather god must have hated us, as the weather was shit! It makes the hike really challenging because the rocks are really slippery. We saw a lot of slips and falls along the way, and we had a couple of near misses ourselves.

View of pulpit rock from the bottom.

Wefie at the start of the hike when we are still dry.

The hike begins. It is pretty much like that all the way uphill.

Lunch break. The rain makes the bread so moist.

2 hours later... we made it. I love this photo because the happiness and relief on our faces are real. We temporary forgot that we still have to hike back down later.

This is as close as we dare to the edge.

We encountered several small stack of rocks during the hike. J thinks that people stacks the rocks for good luck. So I put one small rock on top of this stack for luck. Haha.

Despite of the cold, and the rain, and that we were dripping wet by the end of it, and we can't see much of the view because of the stupid rain, it is still one of the greatest highlights of our trip. We are glad that we did this. But will we do it again? Probably not.

This marks the end of our Scandinavia adventure.

Stavanger

Day 31 (28 July 2017)

We stay in Stavanger in order to get to Pulpit Rock. Arrived in Stavanger at around 2pm, checked in our hotel at Clarion Hotel Stavanger, went to the tourist information office to get more information about our hike tomorrow, which left us with just a couple of hours to explore the town before the shops closed.

We went to Gaffel and Karaffel for dinner. The food is good. I think this might be one of the best meals we had in Norway.

After dinner, we explore the historical part of Stavanger, Gamle Stavanger. I love the white wooden houses.
