Not sure what to expect before we arrived in Helsinki except that it's expensive like everywhere else in Scandinavia. Helsinki turns out to be one of our favourite places and we intend to come back again and explore other areas in Finland. Helsinki has the best coffee and the best cinnamon buns, and I love the design shops that are completely my style.
We arrived in Helsinki on a gloomy day and heavy rain forecast in the late afternoon. We were greeted by this ugly monstrosity on our way to the hotel.

Caught out in the rain while we are doing the design district walking tour and were completely soaked by the end of it. We grabbed lunch at a local pub and called it a day.
