Tallinn

Day 12 (9 July 2017)

Midnight sun.

Morning sun in our cabin.

Our overnight ferry - Silja Line Baltic Queen.

St Petersbourg Hotel.

Great thing about arriving in Tallinn on a Sunday is the Sunday Market at Town Hall.

Did a free walking tour. Then late lunch at Leib.

Estonian black bread.

House smoked local fish.

Calf liver.

Crème brûlée with black bread

Challenging climb up the St Olav's church for the best view of Tallinn.

Dinner at Kuldse Nostsu Korts.

Lamb rack with honeyed vegetables, beetroot and Demiclase sauce.

Oven sausages with sauerkraut and cold horseradish sauce.

Traditional pork roast with sauerkraut, oven potatoes and mustard sauce.

Ice cream selection with sea buckthorn syrup.

Day 13 (10 July 2017)

Town hall pharmacy. Apparently the oldest continuously running pharmacy in Europe. Couldn't find the powdered unicorn horn that I read that they have somewhere on display. We brought hay fever medicine instead.

Inside the Town Hall.

Old Thomas.

Couldn't get a place at the famous Rataskaevu 16. The wait staff recommended the sister shop, Vaike, which has the same menu and is around the corner. So we went there for lunch.

Can't remember what this is...

Fried white fish marinated kohlrabi, lentils, carrot chips, lemon-butter sauce.

Bread pudding rasberry parfait, caramel sauce. The best bread pudding ever!

St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

Balti Jaama Turg. Great contemporary market about 15 mins walk from the old town and a nice break away from all the tourists.

Dinner at Pegasus. All the Estonian bread we had so far are delicious, But this one at Pegasus is the best of them all!
