Day 5 (2 July 2017)
Arrived Gothenburg in the afternoon. I knew straight away that I am going to love this place. The sun was shining. A welcome change from the miserable weather at Copenhagen. And my grape-sized blister had just burst. So really, we were on to a great start. After we checked into our hotel, Scandic No.25, we grabbed a quick lunch of Swedish meatballs (of course) in a shopping mall close by. These tasted just like the IKEA ones. Haha.
Trädgårdsföreningen (Garden Society of Gothenburg).
Skansen Kronan lookout and the view.
And random stuff on our way back to the hotel.
Day 6 (3 July 2017)
Sightseeing tour on the paddan boat.
Pre-lunch at Strömmingsluckan. Fried herring with mashed potatoes and lingonberries. We had the original and the mustard version. If you are ever in Gothenburg, this is an absolute must! So good!
Lunch at Feskekôrka (fish church).
Shopping. So many nice stuff here but unfortunately it's either too expensive, too heavy, too bulky or too fragile.
In love with this vertical garden.
Ahhh. Now comes the highlight. When planning for this trip, I was tossing up between Gothenburg to conquer the giganto cinnamon bun the size of a face, or to Gotland for the medieval stuff. The giant cinnamon bun sounds so much more interesting. So here we are. At Café Husaren. Our first ever Swedish cinnamon bun (and our first fika in Sweden) and it got to be the biggest one of course.
Stumbled upon this tranquil park. We took a short break here just watching the ducks.
View from our hotel room. And it started to rain. Thank you Gothenburg for holding up the rain until we are in the safety of our hotel.
